Membership is by audition.
Membership is open to all students by audition regardless of race, creed, color, gender, handicap or financial status. NYSO, Inc. is a not-for-profit (501c3) corporation and derives its funds through fees, contributions and grants. Our Student Handbook describes requirements and responsibilities for membership.
Our formal auditions for 2008 take place June 11, 13, 15, and 16. However, students may set up an individual audition at other times, as needed. We will audition students up through the second week of September for first semester and then again in December or January for second semester. Link to current audition information
Scholarship Assistance
NYSO does not turn anyone away because of financial hardship. Upon board approval, we offer scholarships, to young musicians who do not have the financial ability to pay our tuition. Link to Fee Schedules
